This guide provides a clear breakdown of the fortnightly payments for your stay at Caring Pathways. We want you to understand each cost and what it covers, so you can focus on your journey with us.

Understanding your fortnightly payments

Rent

Your mandatory contribution towards your room and living space. Calculated as 25% of your Disability Support Pension (DSP).

Board

A mandatory contribution for essential services and shared living expenses. Calculated as 10% of your DSP. Covers:

Commonwealth Rent Assistance (CRA)

A government subsidy paid directly towards your rent. We receive 100% of your CRA to cover a portion of your living costs.

Energy Supplement

A government subsidy that contributes to your energy costs. We receive 100% of your energy supplement for this purpose.

Consumables

A mandatory contribution for essential household items like cleaning products, toilet paper and protective equipment (PPE). Calculated as 3% of your DSP.

Optional meal service

If you choose to opt in to our meal service, this amount is added to your fortnightly payment. Calculated as 25% of your DSP.

If a participant is under 21, the relevant amount varies to match what they are receiving.

If a participant is awaiting DSP, we will negotiate a rate until DSP is received.

Any Pension Supplements received are kept by the participant and are not used in these calculations.
